Tag: Salzkammergut Altaussee – Blahalm – Rettenbachtal – Bad Ischl – Bad Goisern – Altaussee We drive by car to Altausee, where we leave it and begin our bike tour and round in the broadest sense the “Sandling”.In Bad Ischl we do some sightseeing of the town and eat the well known ice cream of Café Zauner and then return. Perhaps we can include a bit of culture with a visit to the Bad Ischl “Kaiservilla” – and a bit of Austrian history. 2. Tag: Viehbergalm-round trip. We go from Pruggern to Gröbming and further to the so called Öfen (ovens)– Viehbergalm – Salza Reservoirs – Cross the main road to Mitterberg and back to Gröbming- Pruggern (this route is known as the extended Viehbergalm route) Length – 37km. This tour is also known as the king’s route of the mountains. The first drop is very spectacular and is the most strenuous part. It is also possible to do this tour in the other direction so providing a great downhill run. 3. Tag: Untertal-Riesachsee From Pruggern to Schladming – Untertal – Weiße Wand – Riesachsee. We leave the bikes at the car park and walk along the waterfall to the Riesachsee.
